Priority Area Transport – Improving internal and external transport links

Since the EU enlargement in 2004, the Rail Baltic connection remains the last development section that still lacks modern European standard railways. Enabled by the EU leadership, Rail Baltic has achieved growing political and economic attention which has brought altogether new momentum to its development. The Rail Baltic Branding project is an umbrella initiative, which forms the first systematic approach towards branding the Rail Baltic railway connection. The three branding perspectives covered are: 1) Branding Rail Baltic through cities’ and regions’ economic growth strategies, 2) branding as soft investment in the Rail Baltic engineering project, and 3) case Rail Baltic in the academic and applied research collaboration in supranational place branding.
