#S02 Knowledge transfer increasing capacity in sustainable forest bioenergy production – meeting the needs of EU2020 (EU4BIO)

Priority Area Energy – Improving the access to, and the efficiency and security of the energy market

There is a large need to increase the forest competence level to produce bio energy and harvest it in a sustainable way. The aim of the project is to develop forest management to be adapted to the geographical location and climate.

Primarily EU4BIO has the goal to set up conditions that secure sustainable wood supply in the Baltic Sea Region in relation to EU2020 goals. In addition, the project has a focus on the risks related to the present practice and the potential for increasing sustainable cutting.
