The first 14 seed money projects were approved on 21 June 2013. The approved project proposals cover ten priority areas of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (Innovation, Energy, Health, Education, SME, Tourism, Bio, Agri, Culture, and Transport) and two horizontal actions (Neighbours, and Sustainable Development/Bio-economy).
In the second financial decision of the Seed Money Facility on 22 January 2014 38 projects were approved. With these new projects the total of approved seed money projects amounts to 52. All priority areas and horizontal actions (apart from PA Crime) of the EUSBSR are now covered.
The third financial decision approved 18 new projects of which 17 were contracted. The approved projects cover eleven priority areas of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (Culture, Education, Hazards, Health, Innovation, Nutri, Secure, Ship, SME, Tourism, Transport) and two horizontal actions (Neighbours, and Spatial Planning). The Seed Money Facility is funding 69 seed money projects in total.
On 18 February 2016 28 new seed money projects could be approved in a fourth decision round. The projects involve altogether 128 partners from all EU Member states located in the Baltic Sea Region, as well as from Russia and Norway. The total requested co-financing of the Seed Money Facility is about 1,2 million euro. The total budget of the project accounts for 1,4 million euro. The approved projects cover twelve policy areas and two horizontal actions.
