#S70 Smart Growth and Sustainable Management in Coastal Areas (Smart Coast)

Horizontal Action Spatial Planning – Encouraging the use of Maritime and Land-based Spatial Planning in all Member States around the Baltic Sea and develop a common approach for cross-border cooperation

The project aims at developing common management strategies for coastal areas, which would ensure sustainable use of marine and coastal areas in the future. It will facilitate development of a water information portal, where information and knowledge on coastal areas will be gathered. This information will be available to different stakeholders and will serve as a support for sound decision making. To achieve this, the project will identify existing practices, data and information needs, as well as existing gaps and planning problems.
