#S49 Baltwise MSP seed money project 2014 (Baltwise Seed)

HA Spatial Planning – Encouraging the use of Maritime and Land-based Spatial Planning in all Member States around the Baltic Sea and develop a common approach for cross-border cooperation

The main project aims to provide added value in the field of Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) by engaging in further practical studies involving particularly the Russian Federation that has not been explicitly involved in the existing transboundary MSP case studies. Furthermore, as policy preparation in the EU and in the Baltic Sea Region (e.g. HELCOM-VASAB working group) is rapid, the existing reviews of the MSP in the region are partially outdated. The main project aims to bring forth a second generation Baltic Sea MSP project drawing in-depth conclusions from previous planning at sea and on land as well as creating new innovative Maritime Spatial Planning methodology including related international governance, law as well as future research.
